Particles Plus News & Education

Boston, MA – June 12th, 2019 – Particles Plus has introduced its new AS-1000 Personal Sampling Pump that is designed for many applications including its primary roles for ambient air sampling, and personal air exposure testing for the Industrial Health and Safety industry.  This new personal sampling pump, while small in size, offers a very long battery life and user defined performance specifications.

“Our goal was to provide a ruggedized design in a lightweight small wearable pump that would provide a full day of filter sampling for industrial hygienists and safety professionals” noted Thomas Grillo, Sales Manager at Particles Plus. “The simplified interface and PC-based configuration software utility allows for a wide range of settings for adjustable flow, sample time, and other parameters for meeting exposure level testing requirements.”

The AS-1000 Sampling pump utilizes a high-accuracy, traceable flow sensor that allows for the pump to adjust to the backpressure of any personal impactor, filter or filter cartridge while maintaining the proper flow rate during sample event.  As the filter becomes more built up with collected particulate, the pump will sense any decrease in flow and adjust the pump to compensate, maintaining the set flow rate.  The AS-1000 makes use of a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery that provides up to 30 hours of continuous, ultra-quiet performance.

The unit is protected with a ruggedized protective outer holster to prevent impact drop damage. The pump offers an adjustable, user selectable flow rates from 1000 ml/min to 3000 ml/min and will hold the constant flow to ±5% of set-point. Its 11.2-ounce weight ensures that it will unnoticeable during long term personal sampling.  The AS-1000 is worn by securing to a vest or belt using the integral belt-clip.
